Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was that many people are aware of the benefits of recycling, but they are either too lazy, or do not know how to recycle and dispose waste properly. This solution makes disposing waste in a proper manner fun and informative.

What it does

This solution gamifies the proper disposal of waste by allowing users to do share pictures of themselves doing proper disposal of waste. This builds experience points that are used to keep our pet polar Nanuq alive.

How we built it

We built this solution with the help of public APIs from NEA and with the use of OpenAI API credits that played a huge part in the AI segment of our solution. We also used a AWS EC2 instance to host this solution.

Challenges we ran into

At one point of time, 2 people were working on the same backend and there was a clash in the API routes. Thankfully, we managed to catch the error quick before development was fully mature, and we disseminated our responsibilities in a more clear manner.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One accomplishment that we're proud of is that We managed to host our solution on AWS. This was a technology that non of us were familiar with. Hence we were all very proud that we were able to learn such technology in a short span of time .
