Inspiration

We are huge fans of Robotics and Computer Vision, so we wanted to build a useful industrial flying robot

What it does

It can fly automatically without remote control as it has ESP32-Cam it recognises its owner (the guy who shows gestures and says voice commands) it fully understands commands for example if you say "fly" or "sit" it will listen to you like a pet. We used Lidar + Optic Flow for 3D scan of the space around

How we built it

We brought soldering kit, 3D printed frames, ESP32, motors and lot of batteries. We had to solder all components together and then figure out how to send UDP video packets through WIFI for our Computer Vision Calculations

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of challenges, like at the beginning we were not allowed to solder in this Building so we under the rain went to the cafe and bought 25M extension cable for a socket just to solder all of those components in the night. Also we were not allowed to fly drone in the building which is frustrating so we had to create entire 3D simulation of drone for our presentation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our final product and that we succeed despite hardcore challenges

What we learned

How to solder, Computer Vision, meet the deadlines and how to work under pressure

What's next for Nano Bee

Improve the system then add new features and get a grant for future development
