Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project was to help bridge the gender gap for women in tech by connecting women with similar interests and encouraging collaboration. We also aimed to create a platform where wellness and productivity are both emphasized.

What it does

UniFemme allows women in tech to interact with each other as a way of networking as well as connecting to build community. UniFemme also provides users with a daily wellness check-in so that users can keep track of how they feel. This is especially important because it reminds users that productivity is just as important as their wellness.

How we built it

The UniFemme prototype was built using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we ran into was that we were not able to actually code the app, due to the limited amount of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create app pages that look visually appealing and easy to use.

What we learned

A major thing we learnt was how to divide and conquer, which would ensure that everything gets done in the small amount of time we have.

What's next for UniFemme

To take UniFemme to the next level, we have 2 different steps in mind. The first step is to target girls in high school, that are looking to major in a STEM field in post-secondary. For this to happen, we could find a way to include more opportunities that are targeted towards high school girls, such as Q&As with women that are pursuing a STEM major in post-secondary, and also hackathons targeted towards girls in high school. The second step is to include more self-care aspects/resources in our app. This would help ensure that all our users have the best mental wellbeing possible.
