Inspiration

I got inspired with this idea through personal laundry experiences I went through here at Yale. When 6 out of the 10 other people I interviewed also agreed experiencing this problem, this solidified my thoughts on making a solution to this problem.

What it does

Name Timer is a simple in-person device that manages the laundry machine waitlist automatically. You type in your name to join the line for a machine. Once that machine finishes, the next name in line comes up and an 8-minute timer starts counting down. If that person doesn't show up within 8 minutes, they're automatically skipped, and the timer moves to the next name in line.

How we built it

I built my project using Clip Studio Paint, Canva, and Davinci Resolve.

Challenges we ran into

Drawing all of the images I used in the video took a long time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the idea itself, the reasoning backing up why the problem should be solved, and the video.

What we learned

I learned how to learn more critically, as well as relearned how to edit in Davinci Resolve again.
