Inspiration
Building a startup is chaotic spreadsheets, endless emails, scattered tools, misaligned teams. We’ve all experienced how hard it is to keep everyone organized, accountable, and connected. We wanted to simplify how founders and project teams collaborate, from recruitment to task management all in one place.
What it does
Tasklytic is an all-in-one project management platform designed for startup teams. You can create projects, invite collaborators, assign tasks, schedule meetings, track progress, and manage your entire team including hiring, firing, and role management all from one streamlined interface. Think of it as your project’s control center.
How we built it
We built Tasklytic as a responsive web app using React, Tailwindcss and some Shadcn UI components for the frontend and Node.js with Express for the backend and Supabase for database. We implemented user authentication, real-time updates, role-based access control, and integrated scheduling functionality. The design prioritizes simplicity and clarity, so teams can focus on building, not managing.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing simplicity with powerful features was tough we didn’t want to overwhelm users with options but needed to support real project workflows. Implementing secure role management and ensuring smooth real-time updates also pushed us to refine both backend logic and UI responsiveness under time pressure.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud that Tasklytic works end-to-end: You can set up a project, invite your team, assign work, and manage the team lifecycle all in one place. We also integrated team meeting scheduling directly into the platform, eliminating the need to juggle multiple apps.
What we learned
We learned how critical clear team roles and task visibility are for startup success. We also gained practical experience building scalable, secure web apps under strict deadlines, with an emphasis on real world usability.
What's next for Tasklytic later
We plan to add integrations with popular tools like Slack and Google Calendar, improve our analytics dashboard for project insights, and develop mobile apps so teams can manage projects on the go. Ultimately, we want Tasklytic to become the default operating system for startups worldwide.
