Inspiration: Beth is an avid writer in her free time, but always has trouble finding the right courses online to teach her what she wants to learn outside of school, and to her precise specifications, spending huge chunks of time searching for the right thing, and then oftentimes ending up with minimal or no results, and only large amounts of frustration. This frustration inspired Name, a way to get rid of such frustration in the future.
What it does: Name is a program that searches the internet to find an online course most fitting for the user's requirements and then shows an outline of it's pros, cons, costs, rating, time, and other pertinent details, saving them many hours of searching and comparing to find what fits best for them.
How we built it: Name was built with Figma, to make a demo website, and Procreate, to create the logo.
Challenges we ran into: One of the biggest challenges we ran into was how to give our idea life, given that none of the three of us on our team know how to code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We are proud of thinking outside of the box, using Figma as a tool to be able to create visuals for our idea, without having to learn to code on the spot.
What we learned: While making Name, the team learned about each other's strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to better collaborate and create a more comprehensive and detailed project. We also learned
What's next for Name: Next up for Name, after the MEGA Hackathon ends, though there are currently no plans for advancing it or coding it, it is a great idea we may come back to later, code up the website in full and make it a fully functioning educational resource platform.
