Inspiration

After researching counterfeiting, I got to know that so many products including medicines which is lethal were also being faked. And I got to know about an 18y student named Ryan Haight who died of fake medicine in 2001. So, this incident highly motivated me to do something about this issue.

What it does

The solution provides an in-depth solution to clearly track the whole supply chain using a blockchain system.

How we built it

I built this model considering all the articles by Safe Medicines, Tech Crunch, Amazon reports, videos by CNBC, etc. then studying the implementation of blockchain in the supply chain and real use cases of it.

Challenges we ran into

Finding ways of stopping counterfeiting activities without hurting genuine business was a big challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was worried about whether it will affect genuine businesses, but after getting suggestions from mentors, I further tweaked the idea to make it helpful for genuine businesses and to increase their efficiency through it.

What we learned

Got to know so much about how the supply chains of different industries like pharmacy, clothing and electronics. And during office hours got to know so much from their knowledge and got deep insights into the problem

What's next for NAIJA

Building a technological software system to validate the idea. And to get more insights from industry leaders and improve the solution.
