NagarNetra – AI-Powered Civic Intelligence Platform
Inspiration
Cities generate thousands of civic complaints every day, yet many are delayed due to manual categorization, incorrect department routing, and a lack of transparency. Citizens often don't know the status of their complaints, while municipal authorities spend valuable time managing reports instead of resolving them. We built NagarNetra to bridge this gap by combining AI, geolocation, and intelligent automation into a single civic platform.
What It Does
NagarNetra is an AI-powered Smart City Civic Intelligence Platform that enables citizens to report municipal issues using images and location. The platform automatically analyzes uploaded images with AI, classifies the issue, estimates its severity, identifies the appropriate department, and routes it for resolution. Citizens can track the complete lifecycle of their reports in real time, while authorities manage assigned issues through dedicated dashboards with analytics and AI-assisted insights.
How We Built It
The platform is built using:
- Backend: Django & Django REST Framework
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GSAP, Chart.js
- Database: PostgreSQL (Supabase)
- Image Storage: Cloudinary
- Maps & Geolocation: Google Maps Platform
- AI: Google Gemini, OpenRouter, and Groq through a custom multi-provider AI orchestration layer
- Authentication: Django Authentication with Google OAuth
A custom AI Manager handles prompt generation, provider selection, failover, response validation, and logging, ensuring reliable AI-powered issue analysis.
