Inspiration

A family member went to hadj and got lost and separated from the people who were with him, he was old and sick, and he was so frustrated since he couldn't manage to communicate with other people because of language differences, and his group were worried about him, especially his son who knew that his father need to take his medicine soon. the question was: How can we get the maximum help in the shortest time making communication in such cases easier than ever?

What it does

EasyHajj helps in managing such cases easily by breaking communication boundaries and ensuring that you will get the help you need either medical help or help in finding your companions in case of getting lost all along with reassuring all the people who are worried about you.

How we built it

the pilgrim downloads our mobile app that will allow him to send his location to the travel agency responsible for him and to his companions so that they can reach him as fast as possible, but that's not the important part, the most important part is the bracelet that contains a QR code that will let him use any phone around him to send his location to those in charge and companions as well, and in case of a medical emergency, even if the person is not conscious, anyone can scan his QR and it will be dispatched to all the doctors around him along with all his medical record so they can provide first aid until the doctor in charge of him reaches him, the bracelets will contain pictures of the same icons in the app so there will be no need for using any language to communicate and this way anyone can help no matter where he comes from or what language he speaks. we also provided a unified web app for all the travel agencies and government supervisors to register pilgrims, doctors and responsible people for the convoy with ease.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many difficulties during the building of our project the first thing was the team working, 50% of the team members are not used to work in team so that made it kind of hard to communicate with each other, and we won't forget traveling tiredness and the lack of sleeping. In the technical side we had some problems in getting familiar with the new tools plus some issues in our personal computers. Now we move to the financial problems which is bracelets.Finding a good quality of bracelets with an affordable price and its distribution all around the world to travel agencies with the huge number of pilgrims.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

participating in this hackathon was one of the greatest things we did. We met new people with different mentalities and skills. We attended conferences from experts in very interesting topics, we talked about new technologies, and the most important thing is that we shared our ideas and we tried so hard to realize it.

What we learned

We learned a lot of things from this hackathon and since it's our first experience we -now- know what is a hackathon is and how it works. besides we learned how to manage time and how to divide work tasks, and finally the Team work, it was hard for us to deal with it but now, we can say that we are a real team.
