Inspiration
MyYacht AI Concierge was inspired by the idea that luxury travel discovery should feel as personalized and cinematic as the trip itself. Traditional yacht websites often look premium, but they are usually static: users browse photos, compare fleets manually, and still need to imagine the actual journey.
I wanted to create a more immersive experience — a luxury yacht concierge that combines a polished web interface, AI-assisted planning, backend-powered enquiry management, and generative visual storytelling for dream voyages.
What it does
MyYacht AI Concierge is a luxury private yacht website and concierge-style experience. Visitors can explore the brand, fleet, membership, events, academy, and contact/enquiry journey through a responsive premium interface.
The concept extends into AI-powered trip visualization: users can describe the kind of yacht journey they want, and the experience can generate destination concepts, cinematic travel imagery, and video-style storytelling assets using Google Flow and Nano Banana.
The project is designed to become a full AI concierge platform where trip preferences, charter enquiries, generated itineraries, and visual concepts can be stored in a backend database for follow-up by a yacht team or private travel brand.
How I built it
I built the project using React, TypeScript, Vite, CSS, Codex, GPT-5.6, Google Flow, Nano Banana, Vercel, Neon, and PostgreSQL.
The frontend is a luxury yacht concierge website with responsive pages for the brand, fleet, membership, events, academy, and contact/enquiry flow. I focused on creating a premium visual style with elegant layout, motion, responsive design, and a calm luxury tone.
Vercel is used as the deployment platform so the project can be hosted publicly and tested easily by judges. Neon and PostgreSQL are used/planned as the database layer for storing charter enquiries, user preferences, generated itinerary briefs, AI-created images/videos, and concierge follow-ups.
Codex helped me rapidly build and refine the frontend, including the page structure, animations, responsive styling, navigation, and contact page. I also used Codex to experiment with visual effects, evaluate whether they fit the luxury feel, remove weaker ideas, debug build issues, and polish the product direction.
GPT-5.6 helped with product strategy, feature planning, naming, copywriting, submission storytelling, and shaping the site into an AI concierge concept rather than just a static luxury website.
Google Flow and Nano Banana were used for the creative media generation side of the project, helping produce luxury yacht visuals and video-style storytelling assets that make the experience feel more cinematic and aspirational.
How I used Codex and GPT-5.6
Codex was central to the build process. I used it as a coding partner to inspect the project, implement UI changes, debug build issues, create new sections, and improve the overall product structure.
GPT-5.6 helped me think through the product, not just the code. It helped define the positioning, improve the copy, evaluate which features made the project stronger, and explain the project clearly for a hackathon submission.
Together, Codex and GPT-5.6 accelerated both the technical implementation and the product thinking behind the project. Instead of only writing code manually, I was able to move quickly from idea to prototype, test design decisions, and refine the story of the product.
Challenges I faced
One challenge was balancing visual creativity with a refined luxury feel. Some ideas, like a scroll splash effect, were interesting but made the site feel less premium, so I removed them.
Another challenge was connecting multiple AI-assisted workflows into one clear product story: Codex for building, GPT-5.6 for planning and reasoning, Google Flow / Nano Banana for image and video generation, and Vercel + Neon/PostgreSQL for deployment and data persistence.
A bigger product challenge was making the project feel useful rather than only beautiful. That led to the AI concierge direction, where users can eventually generate personalized yacht trip concepts, visual moodboards, itinerary briefs, and private charter enquiries.
The backend/database was also an important design consideration. I had to think about how enquiries, generated content, user preferences, and concierge follow-ups would be stored and managed as the project grows beyond a static website.
What I learned
I learned that AI tools are most powerful when they are used together intentionally. Codex helped me move quickly through implementation, GPT-5.6 helped me clarify the product and submission story, and Google Flow / Nano Banana helped bring the luxury travel vision to life visually.
I also learned how important deployment and persistence are for making a prototype feel real. Vercel gives the project a public home, while Neon and PostgreSQL provide a path toward storing real enquiry and itinerary data.
Most importantly, I learned how to turn a visually polished website into a more complete product concept by thinking about the user journey, the backend workflow, and the role AI can play in planning, visualization, and follow-up.
What's next
Next, I would expand the Vercel deployment with production API routes, connect the enquiry flow directly to Neon PostgreSQL, and store enquiries, trip preferences, generated itineraries, and AI-created media. I would add authentication for concierge/admin users and build a dashboard for managing leads.
I would also add a full GPT-powered itinerary generator where users can describe their ideal trip and receive a personalized yacht charter plan. Longer term, the platform could become a complete AI yacht concierge system: users describe their dream voyage, GPT-5.6 creates the itinerary and client brief, Google Flow / Nano Banana generate cinematic visuals, Neon PostgreSQL stores the data, and the yacht team follows up from an admin dashboard.
