Inspiration

Mythika began with my love of video games, especially Pokémon Puzzle League on the Nintendo 64. I wanted to bring that fast, competitive, “just one more match” feeling to mobile, inspired by the panel-matching gameplay of Panel de Pon.

What it does

Mythika: Puzzle Tournament is a complete mobile puzzle game with multiplayer at its heart. Match panels, build combos, and challenge other players in real-time battles.

How we built it

I built Mythika myself, with AI as a development partner. The game is built with Flutter. Supabase, Supabase Edge Functions, and a TypeScript multiplayer server on Cloudflare Durable Objects power its online features.

Challenges we ran into

Making multiplayer feel truly real-time was my biggest challenge and one of the most rewarding. Bringing the game and networking together pushed me technically, and I loved figuring it out.

Accomplishments we’re proud of

I’m proud to have taken Mythika from an idea to a fully deployed, released game.

What we learned

Combining hands-on coding with AI-generated assets can take a solo project a long way. But AI can only get you so far. A critical eye is essential to make sure every asset fits the game’s visual identity. I also learned that game feel depends on rhythm and timing, not just whether a mechanic works. When should a sound play? When should the screen vibrate? Those details are difficult for an LLM to understand without the context of actually playing the game. LLMs can be great at building interfaces for conventional apps, but game UI follows different rules. It needs to fit the specific game’s mechanics, pace, feedback, and visual style.
