MythBuster is a fun simple , mobile-friendly game where a user be of any age group can play and get their fact check done right. During the pandemic there has been aplethora of misleading information floating around the internet and a user tends to belive it. Stress can something that is also sneaking upon you. It doesn’t take much to leave us feeling anxious and stressed—it could be as simple as feeling busy at work, or just feeling like you don’t have enough to do as we cannot step out ofthe house due to lockdown. The good news is that we can help to keep your stress levels low simply by using our app. A user can get their facts right and have a great experince with the vibrant moving background colors which is soothing & peaceful

What it does

  • It is a game which helps you burst myths around covid and earn your points
  • You can compete with other people and be at top of leaderboard which means you are far away from any misleading information
  • It a game which you can play and relax at the same time enjoying the vibrant colors of the background

How we built it

We buil is using the below tech stack

  • ReactJs - A JavaScript library for building user interfaces!
  • VS Code Editor - awesome web-based text editor
  • Material-UI - world's most popular React UI framework.
  • MongoDB- The database for modern applications
  • NodeJS - A cross-platform, back-end JavaScript runtime environment

Challenges we ran into

  • Communication- Team members often prefer chatting but thats is time consuming. We fixed it by creating a zoom room where all of us were avaiable. It gave us a feeling of working toghether though being at distance. It made our discussion fast & helped us solving problems easiliy
  • APIs were not working as it should
  • Faced issues while merging as some members used beautifying pluggins which gave unexpected results

  • Make use of animations for good User experience

  • Learnt comcepts of building state mamagement for different components in Reactjs
  • Nodejs , Mongodb for handling authentications for signup , login
  • Deploying our application

What's next for MythBuster

We intend to take MythBuster to next level by building in a search engine for validating a fact. Where a user can enter enter his/her fact and get the details about it of whether it is valid or just another misleading information
