Inspiration
The idea of multiverse and multi-dimension fascinates me, so I decided to make something that has the ability to unlock the hidden world.
What it does
Control the drone that shoots a portal that shows what's on the other side of the world. The drone can be moved around, and we can see it unlock the invisible world.
How we built it
It was started by making a full 3d map of the world. Added the drone that will act as a way to move the portal. Using multiple Render targets, each part is rendered separately. Using the Lens Studios Material Graph, I made numerous materials to make the portal and the invisible world visible. The drone is controlled using the joystick, and the movement it goes has been restricted, so it doesn't cross the map.
Challenges we ran into
Hiding the world and showing them only when needed and showing only the part where the portal is. Also, making the drone move and still making the portal when seen from behind the drone was hidden, so it was challenging to render them in a different order.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It was making the portal with the distortion look like a beam of light. Also, all the shader works in this project and making them optimised.
What we learned
Learnt about render Targets, Multiple layers and the use of multiple cameras. Also joining multiple cameras to create the final output.
What's next for Mystery World
Adding new maps, adding SFX, and making the user find the hidden objects in the world.
