Inspiration

Our App is inspired by the challenges that many of us have experienced when going through the PT process. Clients with injuries often struggle with remembering to do their exercises, keeping track of progress, and communicating with their doctor.

What it does

Our App bridges the gap between physical therapists and patients. Doctors can remotely update a patient's regimen and keep track of their progress. As a user, you are able to go in-depth with your regimen and see your exercises in detail. You can also track your progress in the app to make sure you are where you need to be in the recovery process. The App also has a messaging feature where clients are able to connect with their therapist and ask important questions about their program or update them on important health developments.

How we built it

Our app is built on top of React Native and our doctor portal is built in Django.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of issues getting started and then maintaining our packages across all machines. We also had a bug in React Native that made using certain packages impossible also set us back a few hours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how much we have learned. We decided to dive into a technology we were unfamiliar with and were happy to see what we were able to make. We are also proud of how we worked together. We never had any conflicts and work was divided up very effectively.

What we learned

The biggest thing we learned was how to use React Native. Also, Cross platform app development was very useful to us considering we had 2 apple phones and 2 android phones on the team.

What's next for MyPT

We would like to get the App set up with Redux so it can have storage. This addition would allow us to develop user profiles as well as a database that doctors and patients can go to for generic PT regimens.
