It's hard for developers to get rewarded for the work they put in with apps or other digital work. We want to bridge the gap between payments and developers who don't generally qualify for the usual app store payment routes.
What it does
Users deposit fiat onto the platform through Wyre and we convert it to a stablecoin implicitly. Developers who host their apps on the marketplace get rewarded with that crypto. It's a consumer to developer platform where users don't need to be savy about crytocurrencies to buy or tip developers.
How we built it
We used Wyre to onboard fiat and their wallet widget to convert user's money to a simple and trusted stablecoin, like DAI. We use a layer 2 channel, Celer, to lock funds and make funds available to developers very quickly.
Challenges we ran into
- Wanted to deploy the Aztec contracts onto Skale to provide private payments but that proved to be not possible as the execution of the mint failed on the Skale chain.
- Wyre web SDK doesn't scale in WebView
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making it so regular people don't have to use crypto.
What we learned
Build it on the web instead cause SDKs don't work on mobile.
What's next for myproject2
Rewrite it as a webapp instead.
