MyoWalk

Inspiration

Detecting Walking patterns and fall detection in elderly people staying alone or young children in house.

What it does

Recognizes walking patterns and finds out a position when a fall is detected as well as trains to find a general walking/sitting pattern.

How I built it

I modified the apis available from myo to generate the data from the myo armband in real time and then use it to generate the required data as well as train the datasets which is done in matlab. The analysing for any fall detection generated a text alert.

Challenges I ran into

Simple bug that used to pop up the dos cmd and couldnt stop it. Took an hour to figure that out.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Lone wolf! Team mates backed out at last moment and yet I feel great in finishing what I had planned for.

What I learned

Running into simple bugs and getting caught is more difficult to deal with.

What's next for MyoWalk

Combining it with artificial neural network and analyze typical patterns that can probably be of use for any thing like the walking pattern of pregnant cows etc.
