The Myo armband uses exciting hand gesture recognition to control a plethora of devices in ways that push the boundaries of human imagination. We wanted to create a simple and intuitive way to use this ambitious and innovative piece of technology to view and control 3D models in a manner that makes confusing, user-unfriendly interfaces a thing of the past. In order to achieve this goal, we worked with Myo Scripts Manager and used Blender as an interface. Simply make a fist, and you have 'grabbed hold of your model' to rotate it. You can 'wave' the model closer or further away and it will zoom in and out on screen. Future work could include complete use of viewing and editing tools within a variety of 3D model softwares. Our target user-base includes a wide-range of professions, from engineers to architects to artists.
