Inspiration
Connecting various platforms into a fun visualization project that involves various implementations.
What it does
The program allows the user to customize and personalize the image of an Octocat, which then can be printed into a 3D object with the usage of Elise software.
How we built it
It was built using HTML, PHP, Elise, and MQTT.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges that we faced was to transport the user's requests to Elise and to incorporate two entirely different platforms.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Passing our challenges by finding other approaches, and also coming with new convenient ideas and solutions.
What we learned
Throughout these experiences, we got introduced to Elise software and its advantages, also we were able to learn how to connect MQTT with a Webpage, how to use Flask, and how to replace it using PHP. Moreover, we got to know about what lightweight, publish-subscribe network protocols are, how they work, together with the integration of multiple interfaces into creating a 3D visualization.
What's next for MyOctoCat
Improve and accomplish a full integration between the different software and technologies that were used to build this project.
