Our entire group learned to use SolidWorks as part of school, so we were all quite familiar with the capabilities of the software. We found that SolidWorks, being a 3D modelling software, would work well with something that can interact with its models in three dimensions. The Myo was all that and more. It had the hardware needed, in addition to being able to recognize hand gestures, allowing for a variety of interesting gesture combinations.
Our script made with Thalmic Lab's API for the Myo allow for a set of hand gestures to present SolidWorks models. Using just the Myo, you are able to drag, pan, zoom and rotate around the object with intuitive gestures. It is relatively simple to use and can enhance a presentation by unbinding the presenter from having to use a keyboard and mouse to present a model.
