Inspiration As Muslims living in crowded cities or traveling through unfamiliar areas, we've often struggled to find nearby prayer spaces—especially those that are open, inclusive, or accessible to women. This challenge sparked the idea for MyMasjid: a platform that empowers the Ummah to create and share decentralized prayer spaces, whether at homes, offices, or temporary locations.

What It Does MyMasjid allows users to:

Find nearby masjids, home prayer spaces, and temporary prayer locations on a map

Host their own space by registering a home masjid with time slots and capacity

RSVP to existing prayer locations and receive reminders

Filter by “Brothers,” “Sisters,” “Local Masjid,” “Home Masjid,” “Highest Rated,” and more

View Wudu availability and house rules The app builds a trusted, community-driven prayer network wherever people may be.

How We Built It We used:

Glide for front-end no-code app development

Google Sheets for initial data management

Google Maps API for location-based masjid discovery

Firebase Studio to handle user authentication, backend data syncing, and secure storage

Cloud Firestore for dynamic data updates like RSVPs and space availability

Conditional logic in Glide and Firebase to manage different roles (host vs. visitor), RSVP limits, and filters

Challenges We Ran Into Integrating real-time filtering and RSVP logic in Glide's limited interface

Managing authentication securely while keeping the user experience smooth

Ensuring that home masjid data is moderated and accurate

Balancing privacy with visibility when sharing home addresses for hosted spaces
