Inspiration
Every year, millions of trees are cut down to produce paper greeting cards, contributing to deforestation and waste. We were inspired to create Mylimcard to offer a sustainable alternative—digital greeting cards that preserve emotional connection while protecting the planet. Our mission is to make heartfelt communication seamless, affordable, and just for a dollar.
What it does
Mylimcard lets users: 1)Choose from a curated library of beautiful e-greeting cards (birthdays, holidays, etc.). 2)Personalize with a note and the recipient’s name. 3)Send instantly via WhatsApp—no apps to download, just a phone number required.
By replacing paper cards, each Mylimcard sent saves paper, reduces carbon footprint, and keeps trees standing.
How we built it
Mylimcard is built using Supabase in the backend, Vuejs in the frontend and hosted on Vercel. UI is done using Tailwindcss.
Challenges we ran into
My greatest challenge was delivering a card via WhatsApp using the recipient's phone number. But as usual, I did it. Everything that exist were once an idea, so it might be hard, but i always bring ideas to life.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finally building a startup and a business i believe will scale and make a huge impact. Putting all the parts together as a indie hacker. It gives me great sense of accomplishment.
What we learned
I learned how better to use Supabase, learnt nativescript as I'm developing the native app version and also getting to learn more about equity, startups and more.
What's next for Mylimcard
next integrations are hampers and mylimcard for businesses using our service to send custom cards to employees on their birthdays.
