Inspiration
Finding your way around the airport is always troublesome, so why not make a way for people to get to their gate easier.
What it does
It allows you to input your terminal, concourse and gate number and direct you to where to go and where your gate will be.
How we built it
We used Replit to collaborate and used Java as our language
Challenges we ran into
Trying to figure out how we would want the code to look as well as breaking apart the code into different sections
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that there was very little conflict between us as well as being able to code all this in such a short time.
What we learned
That when you have an idea, it tend s to change throughout your process of coding, that you have to constantly adapt and rethink new solutions even when working with some basic code.
What's next for MyGateFinder
For now, MyGateFinder is just a rough prototype. The actual vision for MyGateFinder is an app, with built-in “map inside the airport” which would navigate the user to their gate real time. With map inside the airport, getting to a gate would be like getting to a nearby local supermarket using navigation by Google Maps. Soon, MyGateFinder will not only help you through O’Hare International airports, but more airpots option.
