Inspiration
We always struggle to find food around campus after some tiring classes. The idea for MyFood was born from this challenge—what if there was a system that could recommend food options based on specific factors like budget, time, mood, and more? Our vision was to create something akin to a "smart food map" that delivers tailored recommendations for every situation.
What it does
MyFood is a personalized food recommendation platform designed specifically for McGill students. It helps users make better and faster dining decisions by considering their unique preferences and circumstances. 🥰
How we built it
We used JavaScript for the backend, React for the front end, and built an HTML to present.
Challenges we ran into
How to link react to HTML and solve the recommendation mechanism based on the choices made by the user.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are so proud that we are all beginners who learned HTML, react, and everything else for the first time.
What we learned
It is wonderful to learn how to program in multiple languages and integrate them together.
What's next for MyFood
More advanced recommendation mechanisms and choices, such as inserting students' schedules to find proper time frames for finding food!
