Inspiration
The idea came to me at the start of 2024, when I started to follow many indie devs on x. And I quickly noticed the pattern of the magical 10k MRR. Then I stumbled upon Pieter Levels who had all his indie sites listed on profile with their MRR.
This made me think that there are many indie devs who would like to transparently share their revenue streams and connections. I purchased the domain and started to read the MAKE book. But, this was all I did. I didn't build anything.
But I always had the though of how I would like this site to show the revenue flows with connections. And the hackathon for bolt.new came at the right time. So, I revived my idea of a site like this. To allow indie devs to share their revenue streams and connections. And do that transparently and for free.
What it does
It allows user to register and then create their revenue stream/flow. By connecting profiles - either already existing, or creating their own.
How we built it
I built it starting with telling bolt.new what I want for the visual of the revenue stream. Then slowly building out the other pages.
Challenges we ran into
Sometimes I needed to download the whole project and do manual testing locally as it was just way faster, but then needed to update all files back in the bolt.new platform.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I liked how the stream component turned out. For whatever reason Chrome takes it more poorly than Firefox. However, Chrome supports svg background filter for the Liquid Glass effect.
What we learned
How to create Liquid Glass component via the svg background filter.
What's next for MyEarnings.online
I will finish the user settings and profile management part. Then publish it live, and spread the word. I will also connect Stripe, Paypal integrations to pull live data for profile revenues if user wants. And create sharable widget for users to put in their sites, banners etc.
