Inspiration
We believe our daily life has been forced into a fast-paced rhythm that leaves no place for reflection. Time seems to pass so quickly and leaves no trail in our memory. This is why we have decided to build MyDailyLife, which allows users to keep track of important aspects of their day. We created a web application that is simple in functionality and has an adorable user interface to entice potential users to truly commit to journaling daily.
What it does
This web application currently has three daily tasks. The first one is the main functionality of this application. It is a textbox with a randomized question that guides the user to reflect on their day. The second one is a mood tracker, where the user can select the emoji that corresponds to their mood, and the last one is a daily water tracker. The data will be stored in a database. Our focus for the functionality of our web app is to initiate simple yet highly effective mental health practices. For example, reflecting on your emotions and actions are a staple in therapy.
Challenges we ran into
Assuring the web application’s accessibility was difficult because we wanted background images for each section containing our features. Merging the user interface with back-end elements was also a challenge, since we have never designed and executed a project with multiple functions. We are proud to have overcome these challenges and learned from our mistakes.
What's next for MyDailyLife
We hope that MyDailyLife will be able to track medical aspects including medication, heartbeat, weight, etc. We also hope to add access to the previous entry as we did not have time to do that.
