Inspiration

We tried to find ways to make Aritzia keep on having good results in business, while helping people to focus more on sustainability.

What it does

It is showing how people can match the clothes they purchased from Aritzia and make some recommendation based on the selection.

How we built it

The backend is mostly done in JS (React), with CSS and HTML added up for frontend. We also have some idea on working on ML to give the users recommendation, especially based on the occasion they wear the selected clothes.

Challenges we ran into

All the teammates were new to JS, CSS, HTML and ML, so we had to start from scratch; learning the languages and platform. Additionally, since parts of the project are created in HTML+CSS while other parts are created using React, we had trouble integrating and combining the project components.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We could construct the web application successfully and created some features like scrolling and hovers to make UX better.

What we learned

We've literally learned everything we've implemented; from programming languages to the way web applications are built. Also, beyond that, we learned that the language and platform we use can affect how we build, render and apply other technologies.

What's next for MyCloset

We want to actually implement recommendation system using ML model. We are thinking of using collaborative filtering model for the recommendation. We also want to add on more features so that we can improve UX.
