The current situation of the world is what inspired us to create this web app. With the harsh realities of the global pandemic we currently face, the healthcare system is under the most pressure in these difficult times. Clinics are overwhelmed with calls from patients asking questions and trying to book appointments as walk-ins have been closed at most clinics.
What it does
We made an online booking system that allows clinics to make a profile on our web app. Once a clinic has made an account/profile patients can find and book appointments at that clinic using the calendar feature at available times. Using this web app patients can conveniently book appointments with ease and clinics can manage bookings with ease not having to worry about booking conflicts or receiving an influx of calls.
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how much work we were able to complete in the short amount of time we had. We created a fairly complex app for the time given.
What we learned
What's next for MyClinic
As of now, our MyClinic web app can be considered an alpha release. It is just the tip of the iceberg, a general overview of a great functional web app that could be built if our team had more time. As of now, we have only implemented simple features. For our next steps, we would integrate the features to better work together. Clinics will be able to register and have their own calendars. Patients will also be able to create accounts and book at clinics and view their appointments. We will spend more time working on the back end and save clinic and patient bookings in a database. The calendar page will show exactly what times and days are available for each clinic, where clinics can set these times. The clinic's page where you find clinics close to you will have a book button for each clinic which will take you directly to the respective clinic's calendar. We will implement a database and secure login for both patients and clinics.
