Inspiration
I've always wanted to create a smart to-do app but have find it difficult to actually get started. While this one doesn't have the advanced functionality that I dreamed of, it was definitely good to go through the steps of creating the basic functionality.
What it does
The project maintains a single list of to-dos. You can add to-dos with a name and due date. The to-dos are displayed in order of due date and can also be marked as done where they are hidden from view.
How we built it
We used an Express.js backend with a React frontend and a MongoDB database.
Challenges we ran into
Coordinating and integrating development with design.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It works!
What we learned
Despite what you might think, it's actually important for the developer to give information to the designer so that they can create the UI in a way that will mesh with how the rest of it is being developed.
What's next for My To-dos
It would be great to be able to have multiple lists, a way to view completed tasks, reminders, task priority levels, effort levels, and maybe even a way to compute and serve which task the user should work on next!
