Inspiration

Courier's API inspired us to make something that would provide a nice experience with curated news articles, specifically around IT.

What it does

Users can register, login, and update their account to specify what IT related categories they're interested in. Based off of their interests, our News API will grab articles related to them.

How we built it

HTML / CSS / JS CRUD APIs Bcrypt JWT Session Generation / Authentication CockroachDB GCP: Compute Engine (VM -- Debian)

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints Lack of experience with Front-End Development Courier learning curve

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Working CRUD application Working APIs Curated experience for users/readers

What we learned

Time is money. Collaboration and communication are key. This was a great experience. HTML / CSS / JS things.

Just to note, to anyone who runs into the question of:

Why does the domain forward to "silcrow.studio"?

That was the original name for our application.

And there was some DNS problems we ran into with GCP Cloud DNS. But the GitHub is there for any other questions!
