Trying to schedule meetings and quick chats for teams in multiple timezones is hard and time consuming.
What it does
Allows team members to
- "check in" when they arrive at their desk.
- ask Alexa if a colleague is available taking into account his/hers timezone and checkin status
Automatically detects the timezone of a member Makes sure team members are not bothered after hours unless overridden
How I built it
Using Alexa + lambda + dynamoDB
Challenges I ran into
Keeping the current "check in" status of each team member
Correlating that with his/her timezone when not explicitly set
What's next for "My Team"
Deploy it in offices across the globe, get feedback and iterate!
