Inspiration
The world is currently in an environmental crisis and it is important for the next generation to learn what they can do. With the current covid pandemic, we wanted to create a virtual interactive environment, where children can learn about sustainability in a fun and interactive way.
What it does
When entering our website, they’ll be welcomed by an interactive map where they’ll be able to explore different minigames and videos. They’ll learn about recycling, the importance of bees, responsible use of resources, and so much more.
How we built it
We came up with a general ideas together and then we divided into three groups, we worked in different aspects to build up the webpage.
Challenges we ran into
Since most of us are completely beginner of programming, we faced lots of errors during coding. We also faced problems when we were merging all pages together, especially the problems of the images in the recycling game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that as complete beginner, we are able to produce a functioning website that looks very nice. We haven't met before this hackathon, but we worked very well as a team.
What we learned
We learnt a lot of html and javascript.
What's next for My sustainable home
For the bee games, we want to change the sprites into the images of bees and flowers. For the recycling game we want to include more objects not only the bottles. We also plan to create more mini games and change the positions of the buttons in the main page.
