Inspiration
My inspiration for building a Bootstrap portfolio came from the desire to create a modern, responsive, and visually appealing online presence that effectively showcases my skills, projects, and experiences.
How we built it
Throughout the process, I gained a deeper understanding of several key web development concepts and tools like Bootstrap Framework, GSAP Animations, Parallax Scrolling and SVG Manipulation. I started with wireframes and design mockups to visualise the layout and flow of the portfolio. I focused on a clean, minimalist design to ensure the content stands out. I integrated Bootstrap into my project, using its grid system to create a responsive layout. I utilised various components like navbars, cards, and modals to structure the content. I used GSAP to add animations. For instance, I added scroll-triggered animations to various sections for a dynamic user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring that the website looks great on all devices was challenging. I had to carefully tweak the layout and use media queries to address specific issues on different screen sizes. Achieving smooth animations that don't affect the performance of the website required a lot of tweaking and optimisation. I had to balance the visual appeal with performance considerations. Combining GSAP animations with Bootstrap's components sometimes led to conflicts and unexpected behaviour. Debugging and resolving these issues took time and effort.
What we learned
Building my Bootstrap portfolio was a fulfilling journey that allowed me to combine creativity with technical skills. It not only helped me showcase my projects and experiences but also provided an opportunity to learn and grow as a developer. The challenges I faced and overcame made the final product even more rewarding.
