Inspiration
I wanted to move beyond a plain static website and create a portfolio that reflects both my personality and technical skills. The idea of a retro arcade theme came from my love of vintage games and the challenge of merging playful aesthetics with a professional developer brand.
What it does
The site introduces me as a Computer Science student and aspiring developer, showcasing my projects, skills, and experiences in an interactive arcade-style format. Visitors can explore my work, view my tech stack, and connect with me through a fun, engaging experience.
How I built it
I built the portfolio using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with custom animations and interactivity for the retro feel. Features like the role selector, glowing hover effects, and pixel-style typography bring in the arcade vibe, while the structure ensures it’s still accessible and recruiter-friendly.
Challenges I ran into
Balancing style and usability was tricky — it needed to feel like a game without overwhelming the content. I also had to refine animations and layouts to keep performance smooth while maintaining a consistent retro theme.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I’m proud of designing a portfolio that feels unique yet professional, incorporating both creativity and clarity. It highlights my projects in a memorable way while demonstrating front-end design and problem-solving skills.
What I learned
I learned how to integrate design choices (fonts, colors, layouts) into a cohesive theme, how to optimize animations for performance, and how to structure a portfolio so it appeals to both technical reviewers and casual visitors.
What's next for My Portfolio
I plan to rebuild the site using React and Tailwind CSS for scalability, add more interactive elements (like filters and game-style Easter eggs), and expand it with new projects as I grow my skills.
