Inspiration
I was mainly inspired by portfolio websites of actual adults, who work as coders. I wanted to create a similar, but cooler effect with more appeal to students. I also took inspiration from air.inc.
What it does
My website demonstrates my hobbies, my interests, and my art work. These are all very important things to me, which is why I added it to the website.
How we built it
I built this website using css and html(obviously) with a basic flask framework to handle the backend.
Challenges we ran into
I ran into several challenges as I built this website. First of all, I am a mainly backend worker, rarely touching front-end. Learning to make this website was difficult, and I stayed up late and went through many tutorials to learn simple effects. I also encountered hundreds of syntax errors over the time I made the website. Also, once I published my website, I found I was using over 100 mb of bandwidth per visit!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud I was able to make a decent looking website with little experience in web dev.
What we learned
I learned to use html and css3. Also, I learned to make unique effects using css and had a lot of fun doing it. I learned to use webp images instead of jpgs. I also published my first website to the internet using render.com, a hosting service.
What's next for My Portfolio Project
I plan to actually use this website to show off myself to important people, and plan to add to it. I plan to add a section where I can demonstrate my electronics projects and my coding projects.
