Inspiration
We are first-time parents, and we quickly realised how hard it is to keep track of everything. We missed dates, ran out of diapers and milk, struggled to remember feeding details, and sometimes could not answer simple questions from nurses about our baby's growth. After seeing other parents share similar struggles online, we realised this was a common problem and a good opportunity to build something useful for this hackathon.
What it does
Mommy's Time is an all-in-one app that helps new parents manage daily routines, track feeding and pumped milk, monitor diaper changes, manage baby supplies, and stay on top of appointments and reminders.
How we built it
We focused on the problems we personally face most often and designed the app around quick, simple interactions that can be used even when parents are tired, busy, or holding a baby.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was deciding what to include because parenting involves so many different needs. We had to keep the scope focused and make sure the most common actions stayed simple and fast.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that Mommy's Time solves a real problem we experience ourselves and brings several everyday parenting tasks into one simple place instead of spreading them across notes, reminders, and different apps.
What we learned
We learned that small, repeated problems can create a huge mental load, and that good parenting tools need to be extremely simple because exhausted parents do not have time for complicated workflows.
What's next for Mommy's Time
Next, we want to add smarter insights, shared access for both parents, better growth tracking, low-stock reminders, and useful summaries that parents can quickly refer to during clinic visits.
