Inspiration
Since a couple of years, I am playing the german lottery system regulary. So when I finally got my Amazon Echo, one of the first questions I asked her was: "What are the lottery numbers?". The response of Alexa was simple but the truth: "Sorry, but I was not developed to see the future." So I asked myself: Wouldn't it be cool to store the lottery numbers I'm playing in the german lottery system somewhere, so Alexa can tell me if I won in the last drawing? This was the beginning of my first Alexa skill: My Lottery!
What it does
My Lottery let`s you store all your lottery numbers of various lotteries abroad the world. You can add all your fields and also remove them from the database. Once you are set up with your numbers, alexa is able to determine if you have won the last specific lottery drawing or not. She also will tell you the price of your win. (like 15,60$)
How I built it
The whole skill is based on an Amazon Lambda function. This function is connected to a AWS DynamoDb to store all the numbers and to the alexa skill kit to respond as a voice service.
Challenges I ran into
Every lottery has it`s own system and probably additional numbers with different ranges. You will find systems
