My Jaguar Adventure

Inspiration

Young people are interested in mobile games, as seen by the rise of children with access to tablets and smartphones and their consequent enjoyment of them.

What it does

It provides multiple experiences for the user to explore the lifestyle of jaguars and how they relate to humans and the ecosystem as a whole. This includes a virtual reality (360 deg) simulator, a game, factual information, and a real-time tracking service for the user of jaguars in the Amazon.

How we built it

We did a demo for certain features of the application through MIT App Inventor and created a demonstration through Prezi to demonstrate our vision for this application.

Challenges we ran into

The programming aspects in MIT App Inventor, as we had no prior experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Use of new programs.

What we learned

We learned how to use Prezi, MIT App Inventor, Google Draw, and more about jaguars!

What's next for My Jaguar Adventure

We envision an expansion of the virtual reality and gaming aspects of this application so that they can be updated regularly. Also, the tracking services for actual jaguars would be enhanced by inclusion of more individual jaguars into the application.
