Inspiration

It can be challenging to recall important medical information off the top of your head when you’re in an urgent or unfamiliar medical situation. Additionally, when visiting different medical clinics, it can be challenging to keep track of all your records across different portals, especially when some of them are based in different states and countries. It can also be challenging for patients to recall exactly what their tests and medications are for; even though doctors may verbally explain the purposes of their operations, the information may not be easily understandable from patient records.

What it does

We created a patient-oriented portal where users can input all of their information to access and show doctors all at once, as well as summarize their treatment plans in a way that’s easily understandable.

How we built it

Used MongoDB for the database, with MongoEngine and Flask providing backend access to the data. Used React frontend to display all information and PropelAuth for user management.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating the frontend with the backend

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Pulling it off

What we learned

User authentication, MongoDB, full stack integration

What's next for My Health Passport

More features, finishing the connection between frontend and backend, integrating the LLM, and adding an option for healthcare providers to send copies of documents and records to the portal so patients don’t have to manually input their information themselves
