Inspiration

The inspiration behind "My GPT" was the desire to have control over the chatbot's responses, allowing users to provide custom system messages and templates for personalised interactions.

What it does

"My GPT" is a GPT client that functions as a chat GPT, effectively storing all conversations and interactions. Built using Next.js, Vercel, PostgreSQL, and Prisma. The app integrates GPT through Vercel's AI framework for a seamless experience.

How we built it

Leveraging Next.js as the foundation, along with Vercel, Redis (for Caching and Session Management), PostgreSQL, and Prisma, we designed "My GPT" to work as a chat GPT with efficient conversation management. The integration of GPT was made possible through Vercel's AI framework.

Challenges we ran into

During the development process, I encountered a challenge it was not possible to stream GPT responses like a chat GPT using the new App Router in Next.js. However, after discovering the Vercel AI framework, which provided the necessary tools to overcome this limitation and implement the desired functionality seamlessly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One of My accomplishments is that "My GPT" is now live and operational. The app has successfully reached a running state, allowing users to interact with the chatbot and experience the benefits of custom system messages and templates.

What we learned

While building "My GPT," I had the opportunity to explore and learn various new technologies. For instance, I delved into Redis for Vercel KV (Key-Value) storage and familiarised myself with Vercel AI for GPT integration. This learning experience has enriched my skillset to create more innovative and sophisticated applications in the future.

What's next for My GPT

In the future, I plan to expand the capabilities of "My GPT" by introducing new features. This includes empowering users to create custom APIs for seamless integration with their projects and websites. Additionally, I aim to enhance flexibility by enabling users to append the chatbot to any website or platform, making it a versatile and user-friendly solution for various use cases.
