Inspiration
As someone eager to explore Atlassian's ecosystem, I wanted to deepen my understanding of Jira, Confluence, and how to build on top of them. Participating in the Devpost Forge Hackathon by Atlassian gave me the perfect opportunity to take that first step.
What it does
My Forge Quest is a simple starter app built with Atlassian Forge. It’s a basic "Hello World" application that uses Forge’s UI Kit and calls the Atlassian REST API to fetch and display the authenticated user's name.
It might seem simple, but it was a meaningful hands-on intro to the Forge platform, and I now have a solid foundation to build more complex apps.
How we built it
I followed the official Forge tutorials by Atlassian, setting up the development environment, deploying the app, and integrating it with the Atlassian product UI. The process helped me understand:
- Forge manifest configuration
- REST API authentication
- Deployment workflows
- UI Kit components
What's next for My Forge Quest
I plan to take this exploration further by diving into the Bonus Level of the hackathon. I aim to:
- Build an app with deeper Confluence integration
- Use Forge Custom UI
- Experiment with Forge storage and web triggers
Built With
- forge
- javascript
- jsx
- rest-api
