The rules were simple : no theme, maximum creative freedom. One had to create a clip and sentence only seeing the last frame and words made by the previous participant. At the end the videos and texts were assembled in one surprising “exquisite corpse”.

An innovative event

The LUM creathon took place from November 5 to 13, 2025. It was an intense online week of collective creation using AI, with one of the tracks focusing on video. Several people participated in the organization (Thanks to Nate and Luis !) During this week, our group developed the concept and then produced “My Exquisite Corpse” from start to finish.

A surrealist game

The exquisite corpse, from the French “Cadavre Exquis”, is a creation game invented around 1925 by members of the Surrealist art movement. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed. We adapted this concept to video creation with AI. This simple rule gave maximum freedom to the participants, while providing an interesting context to explore the capabilities of AI tools.

Multiple processes

Each participant followed her/his own process, while using mostly Fuser which was our main tool for the event. With Fuser we were able to access models such as Kling and Gemini. Some used Midjourney for image generation. Finally the clips were “stitched” with a movie editor, and the sentences assembled into a full surrealist poem. The music and voice were created with Suno. We were so happily surprised when we discovered the result at the end !

What’s next

The adventure continues, with the next LUM Creathon coming in December, and new AI experiences to discover…
