Inspiration
Inspired by Gabby Beckford's mission to empower ambitious women, MyDreams bridges the gap between inspiration and action.
What it does
How we built it
Built with Flutter and Google's Gemini AI, the app transforms any dream into personalized micro-actions—daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that tackle your specific barriers. The biggest challenge was creating meaningful gamification that motivates without overwhelming. Through iterations, the travel-themed passport UI emerged: collect stamps for completed dreams, earn miles for progress, and build streaks for consistency. Using Firebase and RevenueCat, I added community features with AI-moderated positivity, ensuring every interaction uplifts.
Challenges we ran into
The toughest challenge was balancing simplicity with functionality—making the app feel approachable for overwhelmed users while sophisticated enough to handle complex goals
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm most proud of the AI personalization—it doesn't just break goals into tasks, it analyzes your specific barriers and creates a roadmap that addresses what's actually stopping you. The travel-themed passport UI turned out better than imagined, making progress tracking genuinely enjoyable. Successfully implementing RevenueCat's subscription system with a freemium model that feels fair—everyone gets the core dream-building tools, while community features reward paying users.
What we learned
This project taught me that user motivation is fragile—every UI decision either builds or breaks momentum. RevenueCat made subscription management surprisingly straightforward, proving that good tools remove friction. Most importantly, I learned that people don't need more inspiration—they need structure, accountability, and a community that believes in them.
