Inspiration

An amazing Alexa workshop by Alexa evangelist Sohan piqued our interest in using Alexa skills to solve practical problems. The intuitive interface and comprehensive documentation cemented our decision to work on this problem

What it does

My DishTV provides a helper service for DishTV customers making use of Alexa skills. 2 kinds of helper services are defined. Content discovery and Automatic troubleshooting.

Alexa Skill Kit(ASK), AWS Lambda, NodeJS

Challenges we ran into

Lack of domain knowledge in satellite dish technology was a major problem. Interfacing the solution and obtaining error log from the set top box were challenges we had to overcome.
