My diabetes assistant

Inspiration

Both of us have family members with diabetes. We decided to partner and develop a helpful voice enabled chatbot that will help diabetes patients to manage their disease.

What it does

AI powered chatbot is a conversational voice enabled chatbot that will communicate with patients via Amazon Alexa and will provide assistance with the disease management: medications and appointments reminders, diet recommendations and info about diabetes.

How we built it

We use neural networks, NLP, Alexa development libraries to develop this offering.

Challenges we ran into

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have developed voice enabled apps for medications reminders and nutrition and now we are proposing to combine them in one voice enabled chatbot along with other features that will be useful to patients with diabetes.

What we learned

We learned a lot while creating our first sets of voice enabled chatbots - specifically getting correct training data for neural networks, getting NLP recognition working well and more.

What's next for My diabetes assistant

We are planning on integrating all the features in one product offering. The goal is to have one place for patients with diabetes to have all the info/support they need in one place!
