Inspiration

My primary inspiration came from the recent loss of my rabbit, a source of grief I wanted to transform. The objective was to turn this sorrow into something creative to pay a lasting tribute to him. My passion for AI and Japanese animation (anime) served as the guiding principle for the project's technical and artistic approach.

What it does

This is a very personal video tribute that uses various AI technologies to immortalize my rabbit's memory. This project demonstrates the ability of advanced digital tools to convey deep emotional expression and personal remembrance. (I am Maelys, 16 years old, and I am French.)

How we built it

For the images and visuals, I combined Gemini and Photoshop. I then brought the static elements to life using the Luma animation tool. The soundtrack (music and voice) was entirely created via Elevenlabs. Finally, I alternated between Capcut and After Effects for the final editing and assembly of all effects.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was managing the emotional aspect of the project—the grief—while remaining focused on the many technical details. I also had to harmonize and coordinate the outputs from the different tools (Gemini, Luma, Elevenlabs, Capcut, After Effects) to ensure a coherent and fluid final product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to have successfully transformed my sadness into a concrete and accomplished piece of digital art. I also achieved a certain mastery in integrating multiple technologies (AI and video editing software) for a single project. The final result is a moving tribute that is also technically innovative.

What we learned

I learned how much creativity can be an essential outlet when dealing with personal grief. Furthermore, I deepened my skills in the AI-based production pipeline, particularly for image and sound generation. Finally, I gained experience in complex video editing using Capcut and After Effects.

I want to share this video to inspire others to use AI in a personal and meaningful way. My goal is to continue exploring the synergy between AI and the anime style for my future creative projects.
