Inspiration As a computer engineering student, I spend most of my life thinking in code. I wanted a portfolio that reflects how a CSE student’s brain works—neon terminals, code streaming in the background, and projects appearing like commands in a terminal. Something coders would immediately “get” and find fun. It’s inspired by hacker aesthetics, AI systems, and the playful chaos of development life.
What it does “My Codeverse” is an interactive, single-page portfolio built entirely with HTML and CSS. It simulates a terminal interface where sections like About, Skills, and Projects feel like modules or commands being executed. The background features animated code rain, ASCII avatars, and glitch effects to create an immersive, hacker-cool experience.
How we built it HTML: Structured all content as sections, cards, and terminal-like outputs. CSS: Created neon gradients, animated binary/code rain, hover glitch effects, progress bars for skills, and ASCII styling. Design Principles: Focused on clean layout, readable typography (Orbitron + Inconsolata), responsive design, and immersive visual storytelling—all without JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into Achieving dynamic-looking animations like code rain and typing effects using only CSS. Making the ASCII art and terminal sections readable and responsive across screen sizes. Keeping the design fun and hacker-themed without cluttering the interface.
Accomplishments that we're proud of Built a fully interactive, visually rich portfolio without using a single line of JavaScript. Created a coder-exclusive experience with clever humor, glitch effects, and terminal aesthetics. Presented skills and projects in a way that feels like exploring a digital command-line world.
What we learned CSS is incredibly powerful—animations, hover effects, and gradients can create a “live” interactive feel. Combining humor and design can make a portfolio more memorable. Visual storytelling can communicate personality and expertise without complex functionality.
What's next for My Codeverse — A Futuristic Portfolio of a CSE Explorer Add CSS-only “hidden easter eggs” like fun terminal commands revealing personal tidbits. Expand with more projects and AI experiments displayed as interactive modules. Explore even more glitchy animations and pseudo-interactive terminal effects for a truly immersive coder experience.
