My Choice School gives users a visualization of schools in the Bronx within input given by users. Users can input the subject they want to focus on. For example, computer science, designing, sports, etc.My Choice Schools uses FourSquare and CartoDB to represent the visualization as a map.
Our primary objective is to benefit our society! By providing students with an opportunity to find their dream school it sets them on the right track in life. High School is one of the biggest impacts in your life. Career,College,and Friends. Lots of students tend to dropout of High School, This is an excellent way to prevent this situation since they'll be in a School that doesn't only teach them what they want but is fun to Them! That is the true objective of MyChoiceSchools!!
As a senior in middle school I was very excited to move onto my life in high school. However my excitement was swiftly dismantled as I was handed a gigantic book with every single HighSchool in the City!! It was belittling to have such a vast selection of schools and not knowing which to pick.
I finally made up a list after tiring and hard research. I handed in my application on the last day it was due. This is why we created MyChoiceSchools. Now we can provide students a fast and accessible way to help them find their dream school.
