Inspiration

My Brick World was inspired by my love for LEGO and the desire to create something personal that reflects my interests. I wanted a simple way to organize and track my collection while practicing my web design skills.

What it does

My Brick World is a basic web app built with HTML and CSS that organizes a LEGO collection into an inventory and wishlist. It provides a clean, easy-to-navigate layout to view and manage sets in a personal and fun way.

How I built it

I built this project using:

  • HTML for the structure of the pages.
  • CSS for styling and layout to keep everything organized and visually appealing.

The app includes an inventory page, a wishlist page, and a collection layout designed to be simple and functional.

Challenges I ran into

  • Deciding on a design that felt personal but stayed clean and consistent.
  • Building the entire project with only HTML and CSS while still making it engaging.
  • Preparing all the submission requirements, including the demo video and GitHub repository.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • Creating a project that reflects my own interests and creativity.
  • Designing multiple pages with a consistent, user-friendly layout.
  • Submitting my first hackathon project and completing all the requirements.

What I learned

  • How to structure and style a multi-page website using only HTML and CSS.
  • The importance of planning and documenting a project for a hackathon.
  • How to connect creativity and technology to make something personal, which fits the "Make it YOU" theme perfectly.

What's next for My Brick World

  • Add JavaScript for interactive features like sorting and filtering.
  • Implement a small database or JSON file to save collection data.
  • Make the layout fully mobile-responsive for better usability on all devices.
  • Expand features for tracking completed sets, parts, and custom builds.

This is my first hackathon, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to participate and engage with the community. Thank you for making this experience possible!
