Inspiration
In underprivileged communities, such as those in Philadelphia, a pervasive lack of exposure to opportunities obstructs the path towards realizing the American Dream for many youth. This ignorance, compounded by limited access to essential resources and mentorship, presents a formidable barrier to achieving personal and professional aspirations. Its not fair to think that all are bad, all kids need guidance. And some teens are in a context they can’t control. They see social media, but they can't see past the perspective of things that are shown to them. They need to think bigger. If they sought a reality beyond their current situation, they could envision a future that is impactful both to society and to the betterment of themselves. They need encouragement from beyond their current space, they need something bigger: a career, or a mentor, or faith in their future opportunities and how to get there.
What it does
Our solution is to leverage technology to remedy this deficiency, and the technology we want to use is called My Blueprint. My Blueprint will act as a catalyst for change, by bridging this gap by providing equitable access to the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to transform and grow. By addressing this critical issue, we strive to ensure that every student in the Philadelphia School District, regardless of their background, can feel empowered and visualize dreams that exist outside their current scope and has the resources and opportunities to and achieve any potential future that await them.
