Inspiration

As a style creator who uses iPhone 7, have always wanted an easy way to color grade my contents with natural feel edit since i don't have access to a personal laptop. Built a lens that allows myself and other creators to create contents with natural feel color grading easily.

What it does

My best self is a snapchat lens filter creators use for daily blogs, beauty post, podcast & style contents. My best self simply slightly amplifies human appearances with natural color grading suitable for all skin types. It enhances human appearance to look the very best we possibly can: Smooth Skin, White teeth, bright eyes.

How we built it

My first approach was to download assets, used face retouch for soft skin, teeth whitening, eye whitening & eye sharpening, added an empty color correction, imported assets as screen image, adjusted blend mode.

Challenges we ran into

To not have had my personal laptop, had to watch countless tutorial without practicing first and travel across to the other side of town to use my friends desktop to experiment what have learnt. Got stuck many times due to poor internet network at my friends house. One time there was light out immediately i got to my friend's place and i couldn't work at all after traveling across.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Regardless of all faced challenges and struggles i was able to build my first ever experiment lens which had horror theme to it "Ancient Life" after which i made the perfect natural color grade lens that amplifies appearance and builds confidence.

life time skill of how to create snapchat lens with various interactive features like object tracking, face retouch, marker tracking and most importantly how to persevere

What's next for My Best Self

Based on use case, will implement possible monitizeable features. My country Nigeria recently changed its currency, my next project is to create a snapchat lens that lets nigerians identify original and fake naira notes.
